EUBAM and FRONTEX enhance cooperation

Odessa, 12 February – A delegation from EU agency coordinating cooperation of EU Member States in the field of border security FRONTEX , visited EUABM HQ on 11-12 February.
“EUBAM and FRONTEX have already had successful experience in cooperation in border management area” said EUBAM’s Head of Operations Slawomir Pichor. “The purpose of the current meeting was to explore new opportunities of utilizing FRONTEX best practices in institutional and operational development of Moldovan and Ukrainian border guard services.” he added.
The parties discussed ways of possible mutual support during joint border control operations regularly conducted by partner services from Moldova and Ukraine in cooperation with neighbouring countries, international partners and EUBAM. In addition, EUBAM and FRONTEX experts identified new areas of future cooperation in a capacity building sphere.
