Working meeting on combating firearms trafficking

        On 20 and 21 August, representatives of EUBAM, Frontex, EUROPOL and OSCE together with delegates from the law enforcement agencies from Poland, Romania, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine held a virtual working meeting to debate on the  current state of affairs  in the field of firearms trafficking. 

        The meeting provided a great opportunity for information exchange on modi operandi and smuggling channels and it was part of the common efforts undertaken to tackle the threats related to cross-border crime in the region and it contributed to improving the situational picture in illegal firearms trafficking.

        The parties also decided to enhance and join all their efforts for preventing and combating cross-border crime, including by planning joint operation activities on tacking firearms trafficking.
