The European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM), in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Ukraine, has made a significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s border security and customs operations.
As part of their ongoing support, EUBAM and IOM Ukraine have jointly donated state-of-the-art technical equipment to the State Customs Service of Ukraine. The package includes high-performance laptops, servers, external memory devices, and Virtual Reality (VR) headsets. This cutting-edge technology will be used at the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services, transforming the way customs officers are trained.
“By embracing advanced learning methods, we’re paving the way for increased efficiency and enhanced border security. It’s a step towards a more efficient, technologically adept customs force,” said Lajos Karakas, EUBAM Officer in Charge.
EUBAM and IOM Ukraine remain committed to supporting Ukraine in strengthening its border security and customs capabilities through innovation, training, and technical assistance. Through this partnership, Ukrainian customs officers will benefit from modernized training programs, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to adapt to evolving security threats and operational demands.
