On 4 November 2025, Head of EUBAM Slawomir Pichor had a meeting with the Head of the General Border Police Inspectorate of the Republic of Moldova Ruslan Galușca to reflect on two decades of fruitful cooperation and the achievements of the current mandate.
The discussion provided an opportunity to review the long-standing collaboration between EUBAM and the Moldovan Border Police, focusing on progress made in the areas of integrated border management, joint border control and patrols along the Moldova – Ukraine border, institutional capacity building, and cross-border cooperation. Both sides recognized the Mission’s role in supporting Moldova’s border management reforms and its contribution to advancing European best practices.
In acknowledgment of EUBAM’s continued support and commitment to the professional development of the Border Police, Mr Pichor received the “Cross for Merit,” Class II, awarded by Mr Galușca on behalf of the institution. The distinction symbolizes the shared dedication to strengthening Moldova’s border security and promoting the values of professionalism, integrity, and European cooperation.
