On 23 September, EUBAM facilitated a webinar on application of the rules of origin, bringing together more than 70 customs officers from both the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

The participants from central and regional level delved into key technical aspects of origin determination, including cumulation, territorial requirements, duty-drawback and accounting segregation, proofs of origin, and mechanisms for administrative cooperation in origin verification.

The webinar fostered a dynamic exchange, with customs officers actively contributing operational insights, raising questions, and sharing experiences from their daily work. Importantly, the participants agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation through the exchange of practical information on implementation mechanisms, aiming to improve consistency and transparency in applying preferential trade rules.

This initiative highlights EUBAM’s ongoing role in supporting cooperation between the customs services of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine and in promoting the effective implementation of international trade facilitation standards.
