EUBAM-led Arms Working Group discussed currents trends

        On 20 April, EUBAM, Europol, Frontex, Eurojust and representatives of law enforcement agencies from Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova convened the sixth operational meeting of the Arms Working Group in an online format.

        During the meeting, the participants discussed activities implemented by the group over the past year, namely enhancing cooperation, operational capacity building, and joint operations. International experts presented to Ukrainian and Moldovan law enforcers a comprehensive assessment of current threats related to illicit trade in weapons, ammunition, and explosives observed on the borders of Ukrainian with EU countries.

        In their turn, law enforcement experts from and presented recent cases and trends in illegal arms detection at the border crossing points, in the border area and territories. Finally, the participants discussed the possibility of carrying out practical exercises in 2023.
