On 14 May, high-level Delegation from Austria, led by the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance of Austria, accompanied by the Austrian ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, visited EUBAM HQ to familiarize with the Mission’s activity in its area of responsibility. The Head of EUBAM offered a comprehensive presentation on the Mission’s support to Transnistria settlement process and confidence building measures, assistance on the implementation of Integrated Border Management concept and advisory operational support to preventing and combating cross-border crime.

The following day, on 15 May, the Austrian Delegation visited the jointly operated border crossing point ‘Kuchurhan – Pervomaisc’ at the central segment of the Moldova-Ukraine state border. Austrian officials noted the important role this border crossing point plays in facilitating the trade and promoting people-to-people contacts, as well as essential support EUBAM provides to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine in harmonizing its operability.
